Fabrizio Romano has revealed that reported Newcastle United target Joao Felix will be available to sign next month.

With Newcastle having the backing of PIF behind them and sitting inside the top four, they are likely to be linked with plenty of players who could take them to the next level and become regulars in the Champions League.

Although, reports appear to be moving away from that idea, instead claiming that the Magpies would rather not spend lavishly this winter and only look for the right deals that present themselves, as well as getting young talents for their academy.

However, speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has been discussing the future of Joao Felix – who has recently been linked with a move to Newcastle and Manchester United in 2023 – claiming he is going to be ‘available’ ahead of the upcoming window.

He said: “Atletico Madrid want more than €100m, so will Jorge Mendes be able to find a different kind of story or formula to bring Joao Felix to the Premier League? Man United know that the player is available. They wanted him in August, but now it’s a different situation because it was before signing Antony.

Do you want Newcastle to sign Felix?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“So, let’s see if Man United will decide to go for a traditional number nine and what happens with Joao Felix, who’s being discussed with many clubs. So at the moment, still nothing advanced for Felix, but [there are] many opportunities as he’s a top player available on the market.”

TIF Thoughts on Felix…

It would be a blockbuster move for the Magpies and one that would certainly grab the attention of clubs all over Europe to show how serious they are about competing at the very top.

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

This is because Felix would likely cost close to £100m, which would smash the club’s current record signing of £63m, and given Felix’s age, he could be the club’s main attacking star for many years to come.

However, despite their promising league position at present, given that Newcastle can’t currently offer any European football and haven’t won silverware for a very long time – which could be something that puts off someone such as Felix from the very start, especially if Man United are indeed interested – we are not sure if supporters should get too excited over these potential links for the moment.
