Presenter Joe Waiman has been left concerned by the options Leeds United have to replace Tyler Adams for their Premier League return.

The American enforcer was shown a red card in Leeds’ final game prior to the World Cup break against Tottenham Hotspur.

He’ll be a huge loss to Jesse Marsch as they entertain the champions Manchester City no less at Elland Road on December 28th.

Marsch will have to identify a replacement for his compatriot as a result but when looking at the options Wainman is less than enthusiastic.

Speaking on the Just Joe Football Show he said: (2:19) “As we know Tyler Adams is going to be out for Manchester City and already we’re all worried about who is going to fill that spot.

“I’ve heard many Yorkshire-based journalists posing that question to fans who will it be? Will it be Klich, will it be Greenwod, will it be Forshaw? No disrespect to any of them and like you say Klich’s one of my boys but it doesn’t fill me with confidence.”

Has Tyler Adams been Marsch's best buy?

Adams arrived for £20m in the summer and has quickly become a key player in the Whites line-up.

According to WhoScored, he is  first among players at the club who have played more than one game for tackles per 90 minutes (4) and third for dribbles while also ranking top among midfielders for interceptions (1.2).

Meanwhile, his potential replacements that Wainman referenced have played just over 400 Premier League minutes between them.

Adam Forshaw was deployed alongside Marc Roca in the recent friendly win over Elche with youngster Darko Gyabi playing the final half hour but we get more of an indication as to who Marsch fancies to fill the void when Leeds take on Real Sociedad and Monaco in the next week.
