Conor Coady has labelled Everton teammate Tom Davies as ‘sensational‘ on Instagram.
It has been a tough time over the last few years for Davies, who was once a regular in the Everton side – featuring at least 30 times in league campaigns not too long ago – but since the start of last season, he’s only started five league matches.
This has seemingly been down to injuries, fitness and other players being recruited in his position, such as James Garner, Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana, but his lack of game time has not stopped his teammates from praising him for his efforts to reclaim his spot.
Everton summer signing Coady has called the midfielder ‘sensational’ after Davies posted pictures of himself back in training amid the imminent return of Premier League football.
Should Everton sell Davies in January?
Yes!
No!
TIF Thoughts on Davies…
It shows that Davies does indeed clearly have potential and talent to show to the Evertonians, or Coady surely wouldn’t be praising him on social media – though his confidence levels must be on the floor given the lack of minutes over the last 12 months.
Davies’ dire situation with the Toffees has been perfectly summed up recently, having been tipped to leave in January in the best interests of himself and the club, which will have been very tough to take.
In August 2021, he was linked with a move further up north with Newcastle United, and while that may not have seemed appealing for the midfielder at the time, given the change in fortunes on Tyneside, he may well be wishing that deal had gone through.
Either way, it does seem as though Davies is determined to get back to his best at Goodison Park.
