Journalist Siavoush Fallahi has praised Tottenham Hotspur man Ivan Perisic after his impressive display for Croatia at the World Cup.

Having had to settle for just a point in their opening game of the tournament after drawing 0-0 with Morocco, the European nation managed to pick up all three points in their most recent game.

Indeed, Croatia cruised to an impressive 4-1 victory over Canada despite falling behind after just two minutes. Andrej Kramaric netted twice, while Marko Livaja and Lovro Majer also scored in the win.

Playing a key part in all this was Perisic, who claimed two assists. And it seems as though the efforts of the Tottenham ace did not go unnoticed by Fallahi, who praised the player on Twitter.

The journalist wrote: “What a player Perisic is. Top-class player and clutch for his club and country.”

TIF Thoughts on Ivan Perisic and Spurs…

Perisic only joined Spurs in the summer, signing from Inter on a free transfer. Since then, he has shown glimpses of his quality in his 21 appearances across all competitions, notably providing three assists in five Champions League matches.

The 33-year-old still has plenty to offer at the highest level, as shown by his fine display for Croatia. For instance, in the player ratings for 90min, the winger was praised for his ‘vintage’ performance and handed an 8/10 rating.

Seeing as he has recently delivered on the global stage – and has done so in the past, having scored in the last World Cup final – those at Spurs will be hoping he can return to Premier League action and bring plenty to the table in the second half of the season.
