Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Joe Donnohue has praised Joe Snowdon for his performance in Leeds United U21’s 4-2 victory in the PL2 Division 2 on Monday afternoon.

The journalist was rating the performance of every player in Michael Skubala’s side and gave the young midfielder an 8/10 rating for his showing in the fixture.

Snowdon was making only his sixth appearance of the season for the U21 side, with the youngsters winning every league fixture he has played in so far, according to Transfermarkt.

The 18-year-old will be hoping that he can follow in the footsteps of Crysencio Summerville and Joe Gelhardt and have an impact in Jesse Marsch’s senior side in the near future.

And Donnohue was impressed by what he saw from the central midfielder in his 78 minutes on the pitch at Thorp Arch.

He said: “Stood out technically in the middle. Made runs into the box. A few dangerous attempts which were blocked.”

First up, which of these World Cup debutants could Leeds go back in for this winter?

TIF Thoughts on Donnohue’s comments…

We think that Snowdon’s impressive performances for the U21 side will only aid his development, and at just 18, he will have a bright future ahead of him if he can keep performing to a good standard.

With players such as Tyler Adams and Marc Roca in the centre of the park for the senior side, it seems as though the Oldham-born youngster has quite a challenge ahead of him to try and break into the club’s senior side, and therefore a loan move to an EFL club may be the best solution going forward.

However, for now, Snowdon must focus on performing to a solid standard for the U21s before he can begin to think of a move away and playing regular senior football.
