Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has attracted the attention of Manchester United in the past and this could be a situation to keep an eye on in the future.

This has been suggested by the reliable journalist David Ornstein who has been speaking on the FIVE YouTube channel about the England captain’s future.

Kane’s contract situation is becoming a real talking point at Spurs with his deal in north London set to expire in 2024 which is believed to have Tottenham wanting to hand the 29-year-old a new deal.

It has been a sensational start to the new campaign for Kane who has already scored nine in the Premier League with his other goal coming in the Champions League (via Transfermartkt).

But with his long-term future not tied down to Spurs, Ornstein has suggested a potential move to Old Trafford can not be completely ruled out:

“One I guess to keep an eye on for us and I’m not suggesting there’s anything brewing here by any means. But it’s Harry Kane, of course, United have long been reported admirers of him and credited with an interest. Harry Kane is under contract at Tottenham until 2024. And there hasn’t really been much suggestion of a new contract coming.”

TIF Thoughts on Ornstein’s comments…

There has also been reports of a possible interest coming from Germany with Bayern Munich believed to be keen on the Spurs striker as they look for a replacement after Robert Lewandowski left in the summer.

Would Kane leave for Man Utd?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, it may feel slightly more plausible to imagine Kane leaving to another Premier League side with Alan Shearer’s all-time goalscoring record at stake.

But with United currently rebuilding under Erik ten Hag, it would be interesting to see if the Dutchman would be willing to invest in a striker who will be 30 years old next summer.
