Celtic winger Jota has been pictured in training in what will be a huge boost for the club.

The Portuguese forward was taken off at half-time in the Hoops’ 2-1 victory over St Johnstone earlier this month.

Speaking to Sky Sports via The Scotsman prior to last weekend’s trip to Hearts, Ange Postecoglou had said there was a chance he could feature against Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, he did miss the 1-1 draw with the Ukrainian outfit as the Bhoys crashed out of the Champions League.

However, a club upload on Twitter has seemingly set the stage for a comeback.

In wet and windy conditions the 23-year-old can be seen taking part in full training and Postecoglou has said he is in contention for the game with Livingston on Sunday afternoon.

TIF Thoughts on Jota and Celtic…

Is Jota Celtic's best player?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The former Benfica man’s return will be a timely boost for the reigning Scottish champions as they look to take a stranglehold on the title once more heading into the mid-season break.

He is by far and away their best-performing player according to WhoScored with a 7.9 average match rating. For context, Carl Starfelt places second on 7.64.

Jota, alongside Liel Abada, has been directly involved in a team-high ten goals in all competitions this term.

Having contributed to 37 goals in 52 appearances since arriving on loan last summer the Lisbon-born star has played a starring role and his recovery will delight fans as well as Ange as the Bhoys look to potentially extend their four-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership this weekend.
