Journalist Adam Crafton has slammed Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou after he appeared dismissive of a question relating to the pricing of tickets prior to the Shakhtar Donetsk game.

The Hoops took on the Ukrainian side this week in the Champions League, welcoming travelling fans to Celtic Park as the teams played out a 1-1 draw.

However, away-end tickets for Shakhtar fans will cost them £60.

According to Ukrainian football source Zorya Londonsk, this meets the upper UEFA cap price for tickers. On the matter, they asked Postecoglou what he felt about it all.

The Australian appeared to not care much for the question, and said he didn’t have time to think about such matters while preparing his team – he even called it ‘a bit mischievous’.

In response to this, Crafton wasn’t happy at all and wrote on Twitter: “What a dreadful answer.”

TIF thoughts on the issue and Celtic…

In his press conference, Postecoglou said there is a ‘more appropriate person’ to ask about such topics, which seems to be him shirking responsibility on the matter.

Of course, he doesn’t control the ticket prices, but if he was to condemn them, authorities may have second thoughts before charging so much given the war and refugee status of many Shakhtar fans.

What’s more, Celtic fans were charged just £36 for their tickets when they visited Warsaw to play their opponents earlier on in the competition, so it’s not as if the pricing is fair in that sense either.

If the shoe was on the other foot, it seems likely that Hoops’ supporters would want more of a response from their manager.
