Sky Sports Rob Dorsett believes that Wolves have no direction either on or off the pitch amidst their managerial hunt and poor form.

Wolves, who sacked Bruno Lage at the end of September, had seemingly hoped for a quick managerial appointment, only for number one candidate Julien Lopetegui to reject them due to personal and family reasons.

This then led to reports suggesting Nuno Espirito Santo was in line for a shock return, but that hasn’t materialised, and now Michael Beale has rejected the club’s advances having guided QPR to the top of the Championship.

Dorsett has slammed Wolves and Fosun on the Essential Football podcast for having no direction or identity.

(4:20) “I think they’re looking a little bit directionless, they’ve got a manager so it’s inevitable they’re going to be directionless, isn’t it but it just feels at the moment that Wolves haven’t got a direction.

Will Wolves be relegated?

“I think you have to ask the question, what do Wolves want to be? When they came up into the Premier League, the ownership was very very clear that they wanted to be challenging for Europe and of course, they did that under Nuno it was two seventh-place finishes I think, he got them to the quarter-finals of the Europa League and effectively he was sacked because Wolves wanted to move on to the next level.

“Well, they haven’t, they’ve gone backwards as they finished 13th and he was given the sack and seventh now, Wolves fans and the ownership would absolutely snap your hand off if they could get anywhere near seventh. so I think there are question marks about the strategy and how Wolves have gone about it in a bigger picture if you like.”

Which former Man United man almost joined Wolves?

Wolves fans will likely be very worried about the situation their club find itself in both on and off the pitch as they are still managerless, inside the bottom three and have now been ejected by two candidates they wished to appoint.

It does raise the question as to whether or not sacking Bruno Lage was the right thing to do, given they have won the same amount of games with him, compared to without the Portuguese manager.
