Sky Sports presenter Joe Thomlinson has heaped praise on Jose Sa for his performances this season for Wolves while having a broken wrist.

Wolves have been on a horrid ride this season in the Premier League, winning just twice domestically and still without a permanent manager since sacking Bruno Lage a few weeks ago, with their fortunes yet to turn around.

The Midlands side find themselves stuck inside the bottom three with the worst offensive record in the league and have also shipped 18 goals, however, Thomlinson did still find a way to praise Sa, who’s been playing with a broken wrist lately.

Speaking prior to Wolves’ recent defeat against Leicester City, Thomlinson heaped praise on Sa on the latest episode of Sunday Vibes, which focused on the most underrated stars of the season so far.

He said: “He’s been playing for two months with a broken wrist, which I think is absolute insanity. For a Premier League-level goalkeeper, you’re playing for two months with a broken wrist.

Has Sa been Wolves' best player this season?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“He’s been okay, he’s been part of a very solid Wolves defence initially under Bruno Lage that’s collapsed a little bit recently, but I just can’t believe you can play at that level and face the shots he’s facing with a fracture in your wrist.”

TIF Thoughts on Jose Sa…

While Wolves fans will be raging and very worried about their form this season, seeing the level of commitment from their man between the posts will likely make them realise these players are giving their all to turn things around.

Which former Man United man almost joined Wolves?

For any player to be playing top-level football with any kind of fracture is mind-boggling given the demands of the Premier League, but for a ‘keeper to have a fracture in his wrist and still pull off great saves like his one against Nottingham Forest recently is unbelievable.

Sa, much like his other teammates, will know that things have to turn around quickly to avoid a relegation scrap, or they could well be heading back into the Championship after several years in the top flight and playing European football not so long ago.
