West Ham United are interested in signing Club Brugge and Netherlands winger Noa Lang in January.
That is according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who was speaking to This is Futbol about the latest news from the London Stadium.
According to Calciomercato, the Irons are interested in bringing Lang to east London this January, but will face competition from the likes of Milan.
Meanwhile, Club Brugge president Bart Verhaeghe has told sources in Belgium that Leeds United have also previously spoken to the 23-year-old winger, but a move never materialised as Lang remained with the Pro League side following the conclusion of the transfer window.
However, Jones says there is definite interest from West Ham in Lang – though there will be plenty of clubs vying for his signature.
Jones said: “He’s got a really big reputation in the game and he has done for years, even though he’s still really young.
“There’s definitely interest there, but there will certainly be competition too when it comes to him being made available.”
TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…
We believe that West Ham fans will be delighted to hear that they are linked with such a coveted European target heading into the January window.
During his two years in Belgium, the five-time Netherlands international has managed to score 27 goals and provide 28 assists in 92 appearances according to Transfermarkt, suggesting that he is competent at providing a regular source of goals from out wide.
His productivity has proved to be effective and reliable for Brugge over the last two years, with the former Ajax man providing 0.88 goals or assists per 90 minutes in the Belgian top flight, according to FBref.
Therefore, it is no surprise a number of clubs are thought to be desperate to secure the signature of the “unstoppable” Lang this winter, and if he can transfer his form from Belgium into one of Europe’s top leagues, we think that he could be an ideal signing for David Moyes and West Ham in January.
