ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United winger Maxwel Cornet is a big injury doubt for the club’s upcoming league match.
Having been forced off on his full league debut for the Hammers earlier this month, the forward did not recover in time to play any part in the draw against Southampton over the weekend (via football.london).
Indeed, Cornet missed out on that Premier League game due to a calf injury and it looks as though he may not be able to play any against Liverpool this week, with the following West Ham game against Bournemouth viewed as a more ‘appropriate target’.
While talking about the player on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex said (09:19): “Max Cornet is obviously another player out. Now the Liverpool game is touch and go for him. But I think again, more realistically, the Bournemouth game is a more appropriate target. He has a calf injury.”

Interestingly, the Hammers are struggling with a number of injuries as the likes of Craig Dawson and Kurt Zouma are currently doubts for tomorrow’s clash.
West Ham paid Burnley £17.5m to land the Ivorian over the summer but Cornet has sadly suffered a stop-start beginning to his career with the London club.
Indeed, as mentioned earlier he has started just once for the Hammers – in the 2-0 win against Wolves – but sadly picked up an injury in the game and so came off after 34 minutes.
Since then, he has not played in any competitions and so he is seeking a first-goal contribution in the Premier League for West Ham, although he has delivered five assists in four European matches since the start of the season.
No doubt, he’ll be desperate to get back on the field of play as soon as possible but it looks as though he may have to wait until the Bournemouth match, as opposed to the away day at Liverpool this week.
