ExWHUemployee has revealed a major injury boost for West Ham United ahead of their next game, with Michail Antonio now said to be ‘available’ to play.

The Hammers are facing a small injury crisis at the moment, with a number of key players possibly out for the short term. Indeed, as many as seven players could miss their upcoming Premier League game (via football.london).

Among those is Antonio, who missed the club’s recent Europa Conference League game due to illness, but it looks as though he could be fit to feature against Southampton.

Speaking to the press before the game, manager David Moyes said his striker had been feeling ‘a little bit better’, but still wasn’t able to confirm if he could play.

However, in an update on The West Ham Way’s Patreon page, Ex has since revealed: “There is also more positive news from Antonio, he has trained since the Anderlecht game and should be available for the match.”

TIF Thoughts on Michail Antonio and West Ham…

Seeing as fellow striker Gianluca Scamacca has started West Ham’s last two league games and scored on both occasions, there might not be a desperate need to rush Antonio back into the team.

But with Ex saying that the ‘game comes too early’ for Irons forward Maxwel Cornet, Moyes will not want to be missing any more players who can make a big impact in attack.

Antonio hasn’t had an amazing start to the new season, but did score off the bench last week in the win over Fulham, so even if he doesn’t start, he can still be a key player as a substitute later on in the game.
