talkSPORT correspondent Alex Crook insists “it’s madness” that Tottenham supporters are criticising the club’s style of play when they are winning games.

Spurs moved onto 23 points for the season as they picked up their seventh victory of the season on Saturday evening.

A 2-0 win over Everton meant that Antonio Conte’s side surpassed the club’s previous best tally after ten Premier League games.

Harry Kane scored for the fifth top-flight match in a row, his longest-ever streak, to help pip Harry Redknapp’s 2011/12 side to their fastest-ever ten-game start.

However, not everyone appears to be a fan of Conte’s tactics despite the success it’s bringing and Crook has slammed those that have hit out.

Speaking on the talkSPORT GameDay podcast and as posted on talkSPORT’s Twitter account he said:

“This is what you get with Antonio Conte. When Chelsea won the league under his management was it swashbuckling football I’m not sure it was.
“I do wonder what Tottenham fans want, this is a team that has been starved of success, made no impression on the football world in my lifetime if they end up winning the Premier League title but they do it in a dull way are they really going to complain about the style of football.
“Yes you want to see your team play with style if possible but first and foremost it’s about getting results and winning games and they are doing that.
“You said it yourself best ever start to a Premier League season, Harry Kane’s had a bit of stick, he’s scored in five successive league games for the first time in his career. Hobjerg’s been brilliant in midfield keeping Yves Bissouma out of the team. Defensively they look organised. I think it’s madness that Spurs fans are moaning.”

TIF Thoughts on Crook’s comments…

Are Spurs hard to watch?

Yes

Yes

No, we're still winning games!

No, we're still winning games!

To Spurs fans’ credit, most of the criticism has come from elsewhere as opposed to from within the club.

Gabriel Agbonlahor has labelled it “boring football” while Richard Keys has insisted that Jose Mourinho would be ‘slaughtered’ if he was producing this kind of football.

We meanwhile believe that it’s about finding a way to win and Conte has certainly done that by playing to the side’s strengths and given that the club finds itself level on points with the reigning champions at this juncture, fans should be more than pleased.
