John Wenham believes that Harry Kane will commit his long-term future to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Lilywhite Rose contributor is confident that the talismanic striker will stay beyond his current deal which expires in 2024.

That is despite reported interest from Bayern Munich who have added Kane to their’ transfer ‘list for next summer’ according to Bild (via SportWitness).

As relayed by The Mirror responding to the links the 29-year-old insisted that he was fully focused on Spurs but did admit that the Bavarians were a “top, top club.”

However, having just launched his own charitable foundation and a start with the BBC Wenham is adamant the £81m-rated ace will stay put.

He told Football Insider:

“I expect him to be linked with Bayern Munich.

“As soon as they sold Robert Lewandowski, Kane becomes the closest player to him that they can sign. Bayern have this new identity this season, it seems to be working for them in the Champions League but in the Bundesliga, they are struggling.

“They are underperforming massively. Until Kane signs a new contract I fully expect him to be linked with a move.

“I have to say, some of the things that have happened in the last week or so indicate to me that Harry is going to sign a new long-term contract.

“The launching of the Harry Kane Foundation, reading stories on Cbeebies, people might think that’s nothing but he is building a portfolio of work for when he finishes football.

“I suspect he will eye a career in the media when he leaves football and I think he will sign that long-term contract with Tottenham. I suspect it’ll be a £300k-a-week job too.”

Having yet to win a major trophy the 75-cap England international may be enticed by the opportunity to move to the Bundesliga with Bayern.

Football Insider have recently reported that the centre-forward is yet to open talks over a new deal with concerns over where Antonio Conte’s future lies.

That will most likely be a determining factor in where the 6 ft 1 star ends up and it will be interesting to see how this one develops especially given Tottenham’s strong start to the campaign.
