Leicester City: No surprise if Forest defeat sees Brendan Rodgers sacked

|

It would not be a shock if Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is sacked if the club lose this evening.

That is the view of TalkSport pundit Simon Jordan, who was speaking ahead of tonight’s east Midlands derby.

It has been an exceptionally poor start for the Foxes, who are currently rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table having earned just one point from seven games.

Rodgers’ side have conceded 22 goals this season – more than any other side – but have the chance to put that right against local rivals Nottingham Forest, who sit just one place above the Foxes having earned three more points.

And Jordan believes that defeat to Steve Cooper’s side could spell the end of Rodgers’ tenure at the King Power Stadium.

He said: “I do think that if Brendan Rodgers loses this game, I would not be surprised to read the headlines tomorrow morning that he’s been fired.”

TIF Thoughts on Jordan’s comments…

We agree with Jordan and believe that Rodgers will have no complaints if he is sacked following this evening’s game in the event Leicester lose to Forest.

It seemed likely that the former Celtic boss’ reign in the east Midlands may have come to an end after the side’s 6-2 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur two weeks ago, but the Northern Irishman survived the international break to prepare his team for this evening’s fixture.

But we don’t think Rodgers will be able to ride the wave of despair if Leicester are to lose once again this evening, and feel that his tenure could be coming to an end very soon.
