Presenter Conor McGilligan has slammed Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch with the club failing to win any of their last eight games.

This weekend in the Premier League, the Whites would have hoped and perhaps even expected to get back to winning ways as they hosted one of the league’s promoted sides.

Indeed, Fulham may have been playing in the Championship last season, but they’ve made a great start to life back in the top flight and inflicted more misery on Leeds with a 3-2 win at Elland Road.

The defeat now leaves Marsch’s men 18th in the league on nine points – which is the same tally as bottom-placed Nottingham Forest. Unsurprisingly, pressure is mounting on the American.

After the game, upon seeing that his side are now winless in their past eight matches, McGilligan could not hide his anger and disbelief. He took to Twitter to say of Marsch: “This is horrific. I like the guy, but I cannot believe he’s still in the job.”

Will Jesse Marsch still be at Leeds by this time next week?

TIF Thoughts on Jesse Marsch and Leeds…

Perhaps what is most damning for the manager is the fact that a number of those games would have been seen as winnable. Indeed, they’ve hosted the likes of Fulham, Aston Villa and Everton (picking up just two points from them), while on the road, they’ve lost to Brighton, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Leicester City.

In this run of fixtures, Arsenal are the only team who would be labelled as a ‘top six’ side, so it is hugely concerning to see Leeds failing to beat the teams expected to be around them in the table.

Before the defeat to Fulham, the board seemed to back their manager, but it’s no shock that after just two points from a possible 24 in the league, patience is beginning to wear thin from the likes of McGilligan.

It really does feel as though Marsch’s time with the Whites could soon come to an end if this continues any longer.
