Rangers need to have both Tom Lawrence and Malik Tillman fit for next weekend’s Scottish Premiership clash at Hearts.

That is according to the Rangers Review’s Joshua Barrie, who was speaking on the latest instalment of the podcast.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side returned to winning ways this weekend, following a 2-1 victory over Dundee United at Ibrox.

That comes after a poor run of form which included two 4-0 defeats to Ajax and arch-rivals Celtic, as well as a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Napoli last week, which has ramped up the pressure on the Dutch manager.

And Barrie believes that Lawrence and Tillman need to be fit for the clash at Tynecastle a week on Saturday, with the former not playing since picking up a knee injury against Ross County at the end of August, whilst the latter played in the final 20 minutes of last weekend’s clash at Ibrox.

“The international break maybe comes at the right time for Rangers,” Barrie told the Rangers Review YouTube channel.

“They need to get Lawrence and Tillman back in that team for me, especially in home games.

“That’s the type of thing that will make the difference.”

TIF Thoughts on Barrie’s comments

We think that Barrie is correct and that Van Bronckhorst needs to start playing a more fluid system which will allow attacking players to unlock Premiership defences.

How well do you remember where Rangers' signings came in from down the years? Take our quiz to find out! First up, Carlos Pena was the Gers' most expensive arrival during the summer of 2017, but where did he join from?

The Gers have scored just 16 goals in the league this season, which is nine goals less than current leaders and title contenders Celtic, suggesting that last season’s Europa League finalists are struggling to break down teams domestically.

Therefore, we agree with Barrie and think that Van Bronckhorst needs to unleash two of his most potent attacking options in the coming weeks.
