Rangers and Colombia striker Alfredo Morelos has put a cryptic post up on his Instagram account.
The 11-time Colombia international has endured a tumultuous campaign with the Glasgow giants up to this point, having been sent off in the club’s defeat at Hibernian in August, with the striker’s actions being branded as “unforgivable” by Steven Thompson on BBC Sportscene.
The former HJK Helsinki man has made just two appearances for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side since the incident at Easter Road, and looks unlikely to sign a new contract with just a year remaining on his current contract at Ibrox, suggesting that his days in Glasgow could be numbered.
But Morelos has taken to Instagram to post an interesting message to his followers.
The striker’s post reads: “I WILL GO AGAINST EVERYONE WHO THINK I WON’T MAKE IT, EVEN AGAINST MYSELF IF I EVER DOUBT IT.”
TIF Thoughts on Morelos’ post
We think that Morelos’ post could potentially be a message to his current manager in van Bronckhorst, with the Dutchman currently content to bench £11.7m-rated striker.
However, there’s also a chance that this could simply be a typical post from Morelos in response to his critics in recent weeks, with no malice aimed at anyone inside the Glasgow club.
We do however think that it is a bit of a coincidence that the striker would make such a bold statement, especially during a period of time when his presence at the club has come under much scrutiny.
