Ben Jacobs has revealed on The Done Deal Show when Tottenham Hotspur are looking to offer Harry Kane a new contract.

After Spurs managed to secure a spot in the Champions League for this season, talks found Kane’s future appeared to have quietened down significantly compared to the summer previous, although he is still yet to put pen to paper on a new contract.

There has been talk of both player and club willing to enter contract discussions, although Kane would likely rather wait and see how this season pans out under Conte and if Tottenham are going to be any closer to winning silverware.

Jacobs believes that it’s likely Tottenham will look to put an offer on the table to Kane after this winter’s World Cup.

(33:50) “I think from Tottenham’s point of view, they’ve always been very calm about the situation and I think it won’t be long now, before they do put an offer on the table.

“I think by long, I would say, either way towards the end of this year or from what I understand, certainly no later than after the World Cup.”

TIF Thoughts on Kane’s future…

There has still been some talk about Kane’s future despite Tottenham’s solid start to the season which has seen them lose just once across all competitions, with Bayern Munich said to hold a strong interest in the striker.

This is likely due to the fact they lost their goal-scoring machine in Robert Lewandowski over the summer to Barcelona, so the pressure will certainly be on Spurs to show Kane they are now a serious force in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Kane only likely has a few years left at the very top of his game so will be looking to pick up some, or even just his first piece of silverware before hanging up his boots and would surely prefer to do it with the club he’s grown up with, instead of having to move abroad to do so.
