Leeds United: Conor McGilligan shares concern over Luis Sinisterra return

Leeds United could be hit with a potential blow before their return to Premier League football after the international break with some players expected to arrive late back in England. 

This has been highlighted by the journalist Conor McGilligan who has been voicing his concerns over the possible issue on the One Leeds Fan Channel.

The Whites go into the latest international break on the back of some disappointing results which has Jesse Marsch’s men sitting in 11th spot of the table.

Although the break may come at the right time for the Yorkshire club, it seems as if it could cause some potential issues with late arrivals back from national duty in Luis Sinisterra.

The Colombian winger is set to be a part of the national side that will play Mexico in the early hours of Wednesday morning (BST) which McGilligan is concerned may bring his availability under scrutiny for the game against Aston Villa:

“Now assuming Sinisterra returns to the United Kingdom immediately following the unite the Columbia’s game that’s a 10-hour flight. Obviously, potential jetlag as I mentioned earlier, there’s a recovery day that usually needs to take place when players have come back from international duty.

“And probably the earliest he’ll be back in sort of training will be Friday which is what two days before Villa come to Elland Road.”

“But if Sinisterra is out you can at least stick Brenden Aaronson wide right which I do think worked okay early on in the season but it is a big loss missing Sinisterra if that is gonna be the case.”

This would certainly feel like a big blow to Marsch and Leeds if the Colombian is unavailable for the game against Villa which does feel like a big game with Leeds having not won any of their last three games.

Sinisterra has looked a bright spark since making the move to Yorkshire with two goals in the league and a goal and an assist in the Carabao Cup already to his name (via Transfermarkt).

However, it is a long season ahead and potentially throwing in a jet-lagged Sinisterra may prove to be a move which does not pay off in the long term, so Marsch will certainly have a big dilemma on his hands.
