Nottingham Forest now hold an interest in Blackpool winger Josh Bowler as their summer of spending nears its conclusion.

This has been suggested by insider Ryan Taylor, who has been discussing the 23-year-old’s future on his latest YouTube video.

Forest have made a bright start in their return to the Premier League, with four points from their opening three games having not lost in their previous two.

And despite splashing the cash already this summer – becoming the Premier League’s busiest side in the market with 16 new arrivals – it seems they may not be done just yet.

He said: “Let’s discuss the teams that are interested. So Nottingham Forest, we know how much they’ve spent, they’ve gone big, really; spent in excess of £150m, £160m.

“Bowler is expected to cost relatively cheap; I think he’d be available for under £10m – potentially less than £5m, but I’m not quite sure on that.

“I think Forest are believed to be the frontrunners, but Fulham and Bournemouth are also interested.”

TIF Thoughts on Taylor’s comments…

The young winger enjoyed his best season last term, with a return of seven goals and three assists over his 42 appearances in the Championship (via Transfermarkt).

Is Josh Bowler good enough for the Premier League?

And he has already gotten off the mark this season, having bagged his first goal inside the opening five games of the 2022/23 campaign.

However, having already strengthened their side with a huge number of players, it will be interesting to see whether Bowler would worry about the potential fight for game time at Forest.

Adding to this, Steve Cooper now rarely sets Forest out in a formation that uses attacking wingers with a reliance on his wing-backs, so this could be another concern for the Blackpool winger.
