Bruno Guimaraes’ agent has dropped a cryptic message underneath a post from journalist Fabrizio Romano following talk of the midfielder leaving Newcastle United.
Perhaps rather unexpectedly, Newcastle became involved in a potential blockbuster transfer as reports emerged that Real Madrid had identified Guimaraes as their preferred target to replace Casemiro.
The Madrid midfielder looks set to join Manchester United, which would leave a hole in their midfield department – something they believe Guimaraes could fill. His agent did very little to quieten any rumours, leaving a comment under an Instagram post about Casemiro’s imminent departure:
Are you worried Guimaraes will leave NUFC?
Yes!
No!

It would be a monumental blow for Newcastle if they were to lose Guimaraes at all, but even more so this late in the window, and while Eddie Howe claims that they have no interest in selling Guimaraes, money talks, and if Madrid were to come in with a monster bid, Howe’s and PIF’s resolve may well be tested.
Guimaraes has been sensational since he arrived on Tyneside back in January, having won the most duels, made the most tackles and won the most fouls since making his debut (as per Squawka).
It’s a testament to how impressive Guimaraes has been that Madrid are already targeting him after just a few months with the Magpies, but given the lofty ambitions Newcastle have and how well they’ve performed in 2022, the midfielder may feel like growing with the club who are trying to build a team around him – as Howe confirmed – is the best option for his career and development.
