Journalist Phil Hay was blown away by the display of Tyler Adams in the middle of the park for Leeds United this weekend.
Jesse Marsch’s men romped to a stunning 3-0 victory over Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday thanks to goals from Brenden Aaronson, Rodrigo and Jack Harrison.
With such a resounding win, it’s fair to say the whole Leeds team must have been pretty impressive on the day. And while Hay alluded to this in a recent tweet, he singled one man out for special praise.
Indeed, the journalist took to social media to say: “Players and Marsch have managed this superbly. Adams has been a beast and everyone’s played well.”

TIF Thoughts on Tyler Adams and Leeds…
It seems as though Hay wasn’t the only one to be impressed by Adams and his efforts. In the Yorkshire Evening Post, Graham Smyth gave the midfielder a 9/10 for his efforts and said the American was: “Immense. A bundle of disruptive energy. Just kept tackling and tackling, helping Leeds to win the ball back time and time again.”
This fine display against Chelsea was also backed up by stats recorded on SofaScore, which show Adams won four tackles, six ground duels, made three interceptions and had two key passes during the win.
Considering the American is now unbeaten in his first three competitive appearances for Leeds, it’s safe to say he’s had a pretty strong start to life in England.
