Journalist James McNicholas has revealed that Arsenal technical director Edu has been in and out of London airports as rumours circulate over possible transfers.
An image was recently shared on social media showing the Brazilian supposedly boarding a flight to Spain. Considering the Gunners have been linked with Yeremy Pino of Villarreal, fans have likely been pretty excited about this possible development.
In a further update on all the speculation, McNicholas has stated that Edu has actually been on more than just one flight in recent times as he potentially looks to sort more deals before the window slams shut on 1st September.
While speaking on the Arsecast Extra podcast, the journalist explained: “He’s made a couple of trips to the continent in the last week. He’s been in and out of the London airports on multiple occasions.”

TIF thoughts on Edu and Arsenal…
Considering the Gunners have recently managed to offload a number of players such as Lucas Torreira and Pablo Mari, Edu may well have simply been going overseas to finalise those departures.
However, there is every chance he was looking to negotiate with different clubs over possible new transfers, too. Indeed, as mentioned before, Pino is one name that has been strongly linked in the media of late, and with this recent trip to Spain, it’s easy to join the dots on that one and hope for something exciting.
On top of that, with McNicholas claiming there have been other trips, perhaps Edu has been working on one or two more deals behind the scenes that just haven’t been made known to the press as of yet.
With a few weeks left of the summer market, it does seem as though something could be bubbling along nicely for the Premier League club regarding a late transfer swoop.
