Journalist Alex Crook has claimed that Brian Brobbey is someone who is on Manchester United’s wish list this summer.

According to reports, Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has been in contact with Brian Brobbey over a potential move to the Premier League as he wants to leave RB Leipzig this summer, and with the Dutch manager previously working with Brobbey, this could be a deciding factor on where he ends up.

The 20-year-old joined RB Leipzig from Ajax at the start of last summer, but he made just nine appearances in the Bundesliga before re-joining Ajax on loan for the second half of the season, where he impressed, scoring seven goals in 11 Eredivisie games.

With Brobbey reportedly wanting to leave Leipzig this summer, Crook claimed whilst speaking on the talkSPORT YouTube channel that he could well sign for Manchester United this summer.

(4;37) “Another player that is on their list as we understand it is Brian Brobbey, another former Ajax player, currently applying his trade in Germany, that would be a fee of around £17 million he is a 20-year-old forward, that is one that could well happen,” Crook said.

TIF Thoughts on Crook’s comments…

Interestingly, it has been said that the Ajax star can ‘jump higher than Ronaldo’, which is quite the attribute.

Manchester United have made just one signing so far this summer, Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, so the United faithful will be hoping that Ten Hag can bring in some more talent this summer before the season starts again, in hope that they can have a better campaign than last term where they finished sixth in the Premier League.

Brobbey was impressive in the second half of last season, after having eight-goal contributions in 11 league games for Ajax, so United might have to outbid the Dutch side, who could be keen on signing him on a permanent deal, but hopefully, for the Manchester side, Ten Hag’s connections will be enough to get the deal over the line.
