Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on his YouTube channel about Raphinha’s Leeds United future.

Despite a lot of talks reportedly having already taken place when it comes to Raphinha looking to secure a move away from Leeds this summer, we are now into the second week of July and he is still at Elland Road.

However, Romano himself has recently claimed that a verbal agreement is now ‘imminent’ from Barcelona, which would see Raphinha finally make his move out to La Liga after two seasons with the Whites.

Speaking on Monday morning, Romano believes that a formal bid will be received by Leeds from Barcelona – potentially in the next few hours.

He said: “During the last night, Barcelona improved their verbal proposal to Leeds. It’s a bid for €68m, but commissions will be paid by Barca.

Will Leeds sufficiently replace Raphinha?

Yes!

No!

“It means that it’s around €72m in total. This is the verbal proposal from Barcelona – Leeds are prepared to accept this bid once it will become an official proposal.

“It could be a matter of minutes, hours, days – we will see how Barca will send the official bid, and then, in that case, it will be completed.”

TIF Thoughts on Raphinha’s situation…

This was a low point in Leeds United's history, but how many points did they get in the 2003/04 campaign?

It appears to be best for all parties if Raphinha’s future is sorted out as soon as possible given that the winger is clearly not intending to play for Leeds again, having not been taken on their pre-season tour of Australia in the last few days.

However, it does not seem that Leeds have buckled under the pressure of Raphinha and Barcelona, with the Whites seemingly able to hold out for an impressive transfer fee of around £61m, which will see them make a very tidy profit on someone they have had for just two seasons.
