Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Mohamed Camara was really excited about the idea of joining Leeds United this summer.

There have been reports stating that the Mohamed Camara deal has been put on hold with Tyler Adams set to sign for Leeds United at that time, which has since been completed. Meaning that he may be the one chosen to replace Kalvin Phillips in the heart of midfield who has recently joined Premier League champions Manchester City.

Camara was one of the midfield options on the radar of Leeds United, having previously worked with Jesse Marsch at RB Salzburg, but the signing of Adams seems to have put a halt in proceedings.

Whilst speaking with GiveMeSport, Jones claimed that Camara was really excited about joining Leeds, but he is not sure if the club are going to move on with the deal because of the situation with Adams.

“The other guy we’ve seen talked about is Camara.

“That’s been a pretty mad one to watch unfold, because he’s really had his head turned by all the interest, and the last update I had is that he was really excited by the proposition of joining Leeds.

“But while he’s someone they really like, I’m not 100% convinced that they’re now going to move forward with that one, because of the Adams situation,” Jones said.

Could Adams replace Phillips?

Yes!

TIF Thoughts on Jones’s comments…

Leeds have already acquired Marc Roca from Bayern Munich, who operates as a central midfielder, but with the recent departure of Kalvin Phillips, Marsch is evidently looking to bring in another midfielder to replace the England international.

However, with Roca already signing, it is not likely that he will opt to bring in both Adams and Camara, as he would surely want to use the funds acquired from Phillips to strengthen other areas of the pitch.
