Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the future of Carney Chukwuemeka at Aston Villa could become more clear in the coming days as he expects a summer exit.
The 18-year-old midfielder will see contract expire next summer, which has led to plenty of speculation regarding him and a possible transfer this summer.
Indeed, as the teen has failed to agree on new terms with Villa, manager Steven Gerrard recently banned him from the pre-season tour of Australia.
While speaking about the play on the Que Golazo podcast, Romano explained that there are ‘many clubs’ chasing his signature and he thinks the player will decide to leave.
The journalist explained: “There are many clubs, many clubs including AC Milan – but not just AC Milan – English clubs, Spanish clubs with Barcelona interested.
“So it’s still a long race. I think it will take some time before being decided. So in the next days, we will understand his decision. But many many clubs are approaching the player. They know the price tag 20m, almost £20m. And so we will know more soon, but this is the price tag – so I think he’s leaving this summer.

TIF thoughts on Carney Chukwuemeka and Aston Villa…
Still only 18 years of age, Chukwuemeka has already played 16 times for the senior Villa team which gives you a good understanding of his quality.
That would certainly explain why Gerrard wants him to commit his future to the club but with some top teams such as AC Milan and Barcelona circling, as well as those in the Premier League, you can’t blame the teen for potentially having his head turned.
All in all, with this situation dragging on for some time now, supporters may well be keen to see the whole saga decided soon enough. Unfortunately, though, judging from Romano’s comments, they could be set to lose one of their hottest prospects.
