Journalist Ryan Taylor has claimed that if Tottenham Hotspur are interested, they will be Christian Eriksen’s main priority over the summer.
There have been reports stating that Tottenham Hotspur are not going to follow up their interest in Eriksen, and it is now Manchester United who are the keenest when it comes to acquiring him.
Eriksen signed for Brentford in January on a contract until the end of the season and impressed during his short spell with the Bees, assisting four times and scoring once in 11 Premier League appearances.
Despite reports stating that Spurs are not going to continue their interest in Eriksen, Taylor has claimed to GiveMeSport that the north London club remain Eriksen’s priority.
He said: “I think Eriksen may be forced to explore avenues outside of Tottenham, one of which is United. Obviously, they don’t have Champions League football. I believe Eriksen said it’s not essential for him, so that would appear to put United potentially in the driving seat for Eriksen if Tottenham do not back up their interest. I think Spurs are Eriksen’s priority.”

Spurs will be looking to acquire some new talent in this transfer window and they have already brought in three new faces in Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster – all in areas that need strengthening due to them qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Eriksen – labelled ‘unbelievable‘ by ex-Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson for his dazzling return to football – has featured 49 times in the Champions League, so he would bring great experience in the competition, but it seems like Spurs are not keen on pursuing their interest in him, which could be to do with him previously playing for the club and Conte wanting to explore other options.
It might seem like a bit of a surprise that Spurs have not put themselves forward for Eriksen, especially with Conte managing him previously at Inter, but the club might feel that they are strong enough in that area of the pitch and have other priorities this summer themselves.
