Journalist Alasdair Gold has claimed that Richarlison ‘ticks plenty of boxes’ for Tottenham Hotspur because of his versatility.
It is no secret that Spurs are in for the Brazilian forward right now with talk of a possible transfer heating up after Fabrizio Romano claimed ‘negotiations are already well advanced’ between player and club.
In a recent article for football.london, Gold explained that Spurs are seeking out extra depth to their attacking options and that Richarlison is a great fit due to his ability to play anywhere across the frontline.
The journalist wrote: “With Steven Bergwijn heading off, Conte needs a replacement to ensure he has two players for each position but he also needs a striker to provide that same rotation for Harry Kane in his squad list.
That is why Richarlison ticks plenty of boxes for Tottenham because the 25-year-old Brazilian can play anywhere across the frontline and scored goals as a lone striker for Everton during Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s absence last season and at times after his return.
“Paratici is a fan of the Brazil international and his arrival could potentially save Spurs from having to spend on a striker as well, with Perisic also able to cover the left flank as another option with Son and Richarlison.”
Will Richarlison be a good transfer for Spurs?

TIF thoughts on Richarlison and Spurs…
As Gold alludes to, it does seem as though Bergwijn could be heading to Ajax this summer – and so Spurs may feel as though they need an extra option for their attack.
If that is the case, the Everton man could be an ideal option for all the reasons mentioned above. Indeed, the 25-year-old tended to play on the left-wing last season, or down the middle. In that time, he netted ten Premier League goals, while setting up five more for teammates, as well as one goal in the FA Cup.
He has also operated on the right flank, and often does while away on international duty with Brazil. That hasn’t slowed him down either, with 14 goals in 36 caps.
All in all, it’s not hard to see why the player’s versatility would appeal to Tottenham and it could explain why a transfer currently seems likely.
