Leeds United are now expected to make a further three additions in this summer’s transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer guru was discussing the Yorkshire club’s plans on the Que Golazo YouTube channel amid the speculation surrounding the future of Raphinha.

Jesse Marsch is now expected to be without both Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha next season with the pair set to make moves to two of the Premier League’s biggest sides in Manchester City and Chelsea, respectively.

Charles De Ketelaere is a player who is believed to be high up on the list of Victor Orta and with a proposal worth around £25.8m expected to be submitted soon to Club Brugge.

With a likely £100m+ set to arrive at Elland Road, Romano believes the Whites will continue to spend with their radar set on bringing in another three players:

“But let me say for Leeds that from what I’m told, they will invest on three players now. So they already signed three players and they want to sign three more players after selling Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips.

“They will reinvest big part of the money they’re receiving. So I think it’s a very good and smart strategy. So they want to restart with new talents. They already signed three and they’re going to continue in the coming days.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

With two hugely influential players set to depart Elland Road, we think it is essential Leeds act quickly and decisively in the window to replace Phillips and Raphinha.

Are you pleased with around £100m for Raphinha & Phillips?

No

And this seems to be the case, with the Whites already adding three new players to Marsch’s options. However, we feel strongly that there has to be a focus on quality as well as quantity.

Raphinha, for example, only cost Leeds in the region of £16.74m back in 2020 so this will be another test for the Leeds board to see if they can replicate their ability to identify talent this summer.
