Manchester United YouTuber Mark Goldbridge believes the club will now focus on bringing in Everton forward Richarlison this summer.

Goldbridge was speaking on The United Stand YouTube channel discussing United’s reported transfer targets.

His comments arose amid reports that Liverpool look set to beat United to Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, and the Red Devils will have to look elsewhere if they are to bolster their attacking options.

United have been touted as suitors for Toffees striker Richarlison in the past, while previous reports from Football Insider claimed that the Merseysiders would be willing to listen to offers for both the Brazilian and Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer.

Goldbridge has reluctantly admitted he thinks that’s where United’s next choice will take them.

He said: “I don’t want us to, but I think we’ll end up with Richarlison. I think that will be our next big target, and that’s not as exciting and inspiring as a Darwin Nunez would be.”

TIF Thoughts on Richarlison to United…

While Nunez exploded onto the scene this season with 34 goals in 41 appearances, including six times in the Champions League, he can’t boast the Premier League experience that Richarlison can, with the forward having played 173 top-flight matches.

Will United make the top four next season?

The 25-year-old, who is valued at £65m, has scored 48 goals and created a further 18 during that time and has reached double figures in the league in three of his four seasons at Everton, proving how he could perhaps be a reliable source of goals for United.

Yes, many would perhaps rather have Nunez, but at the right price, Richarlison could be a tremendous acquisition, as in a top-six team, he will have the artillery around him to flourish – which he may not have had at Everton or Watford.
