Celtic writer @CraigCelt has expressed his disappointment over the documentary looking back at the Hoops’ title-winning campaign.

The Bhoys had a historic first season under Ange Postecoglou’s reign, with the manager leading them to a league and cup double, snatching the SPFL crown straight back from their Glasgow rivals. To commemorate the season, the BBC released a documentary.

The programme took an in-depth look at how Postecoglou and his side won the league title last season, so you’d imagine this is something that the Hoops supporters would be loving, watching back the best bits from a successful campaign.

Will Celtic win the SPL next season?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, it appears that this is not totally the case, with Celtic journalist @CraigCelt left fuming with the programme, taking to Twitter to share the following thoughts: “I don’t know if I’m just used to really high-calibre documentaries on Netflix etc, but this BBC ‘How the league was won’ show is really poorly produced and the narrator is abysmal. All that great game footage, there’s so much potential to make it much better than this.”

TIF Thoughts on the tweet…

Craig’s reaction just shows how frustrated he is with the programme and how bad he must feel it is. You wouldn’t imagine such an important or positive spin on Celtic’s achievements would be slammed by their own supporters.

Interesting first question, how many Celtic fans were inside Ibrox?

While there will surely be plenty of Celtic supporters out there that loved every second of the programme, journalists who work in the industry clearly saw room for improvement. It may not have been the most momentous of campaigns, but maybe a season that was such a far cry from the previous one deserved greater recognition and coverage than it did receive.
