Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters will be furious after seeing some footage posted on Twitter following their defeat on the final day of the season.

Bruno Lage’s men ended their 2021/22 campaign with a defeat away from home at Anfield, but it appears they could have been awarded a penalty in the second half.

Should this have been a penalty?

Wolves took a surprise lead against the Reds with Jurgen Klopp’s men expected to cruise to victory on a day that decided who would get their hands on the title.

However, while Klopp’s men fought back to clinch the points, it seems the Wanderers could have potentially been handed a penalty for what appeared to be a push on Toti Gomes from Ibrahima Konate.

But Anthony Taylor was clearly unconvinced the incident warranted a penalty and Lage’s men were then forced to endure a Liverpool storm as the Reds fought for all three points.

TIF Thoughts on the footage…

There definitely appears to be a case for the Wolves players to appeal for a penalty, with the Liverpool defender seemingly nudging the 23-year-old in the back.

A similar incident occurred just the other week in the north London derby which saw Son Heung-min fouled by Cedric Soares with a push in the back which was awarded instantly as a penalty.

The incident happened just over a minute into the second half and if it was awarded and converted, it would have certainly made the task much bigger for Liverpool to claim all three points.
