Tottenham Hotspur may have been hit by a fresh injury concern from their narrow victory on Sunday afternoon against Burnley.

Antonio Conte has recently been hit by the absence of Cristian Romero, who’ll sit out the final game of the season – while it seems Rodrigo Bentancur may have picked up a knock on Sunday.

Is Bentancur Tottenham's best midfielder?

Spurs made a huge step forward in their quest for a spot in the top four by sealing the points in a nervy clash against Mike Jackson’s Clarets in N17.

However, the game may have been marred by a potential injury concern regarding their Uruguayan midfielder, who was spotted in pain by reliable Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold.

The 24-year-old was able to play on and saw out the remainder of the game as he racked up his 16th Premier League appearance since joining back in January.

However, Gold tweeted from the press box: “Rodrigo Bentancur looks to be in a lot of pain in the centre circle.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

The fact that Bentancur was able to carry on and see out the match will probably fill Spurs fans with confidence it is nothing to worry about.

And hopefully, for Conte’s sake, this is the case. Bentancur has played a huge role in the Spurs side since he arrived from Juventus earlier this year and had a ‘tidy’ performance on Sunday.

However, Romero was able to complete the game at Anfield and even participated in training in the lead-up to the game against Arsenal before being ruled out for the season.

So we are sure everyone at Spurs will have everything crossed for their midfielder, with injuries beginning to rack up for the Lilywhites over recent weeks.
