TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook hasn’t held back when discussing Edinson Cavani and has called out the Manchester United striker who is set to leave the club.
The writing looked on the wall for the Uruguayan when Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at Old Trafford last summer as he gave up the number seven shirt for the United icon and the 35-year-old has played just 820 minutes this season scoring two goals in an injury-riddled campaign.
The former PSG talisman arrived in Manchester at the start of last season with his £160k-per-week contract up at the end of the campaign and he isn’t expected to continue with the Reds.

It’s been an underwhelming second season for Cavani and speaking on the talkSPORT Game Day podcast Crook didn’t hold back, unleashing a scathing assessment of the Uruguayan.
He said:
(47:47) “Edinson Cavani shouldn’t even be at the club anymore. He’s coming to the end of his contract in the summer. He turned up when he wants to, they should already have paid him off and said, Listen, fella, you’re out the door. Go back to Uruguay. Go and fix up your next move.
TIF Thoughts on Cavani…
Undoubtedly there is huge changes needed and also expected at the 20-time Premier League winners at the end of the season.
It has been a season to forget for United as well as the centre-forward in question with attention quickly turning to preparations ahead of Erik ten Hag’s first campaign.
The striker has missed well over half of the Red Devil’s fixtures this term which appears to have grinded Crook’s gears but with his contract expiring and the clearout expected to begin in the coming weeks perhaps the talkSPORT man will be willing to hold the door open for Cavani.
