Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed on The Done Deal Show what Arsenal transfer target Tammy Abraham has told him amid reported interest in the England forward.

Abraham, who was regarded as not good enough for Chelsea last summer as he was sold to Roma and replaced by Romelu Lukaku, has gone on to score 27 goals this season and lift the Europa Conference League trophy, while Lukaku managed just 15 strikes at Stamford Bridge.

It has been reported that some clubs could make a move for Abraham this summer, and given Arsenal’s need for a striker, with potentially no senior options set to be on their books come next season – although Eddie Nketiah appears close to penning a new deal – the Gunners could see him as someone to lead their line for years to come.

However, despite being linked with Abraham, Jacobs has delivered a concerning claim.

He said: “Tammy Abraham is a really interesting one. I was out and about in Italy doing some things with CBS, and my colleague Marco Messina was also at Roma for the best part of a month doing filming, and when he met Tammy Abraham at CBS, he made it very clear, on and off camera how happy he was there.

Should Arsenal sign Abraham?

Yes!

No!

No!

“He’s loving life in Roma, he enjoys playing under Mourinho, he’s scoring goals for fun – and not too many English players have been able to make that transition over to Italy and score in that manner – he loves the climate…

“Abraham has fuelled transfer talk because he’s sort of refused to close the door on a possible Arsenal move, and he’s basically just said he’ll see what the future holds.

“But privately, Arsenal, any club, are going to have to do a lot to get him away from Italy because he’s just enjoying everything about it out there.”

TIF Thoughts on Abraham…

Considering Abraham has just helped Roma lift their first major European trophy after beating Feyenoord 1-0 in the Europa Conference League final and has only spent a single season in the capital city, it would likely cost Arsenal a monstrous fee to sign him this summer.

While it could have been worth it for Arsenal to get a young striker in that can lead the line for years to come, with Nketiah potentially signing a new long-term deal, he will have surely been handed some reassurances about his playing time, so bringing in someone like Abraham would likely go against anything along those lines.
