Leeds United ace Kalvin Phillips is enjoying life at Elland Road under the club’s new manager, Jesse Marsch.

That is what football journalist Pete O’Rourke told This Is Futbol earlier this week amid speculation surrounding the future of the English midfielder.

Do you expect Phillips to be at Leeds next season?

Yes

No

No

It has been reported the summer window will see the 26-year-old’s future in Yorkshire put under scrutiny with the likes of Aston Villa believed to be interested in him.

However, the football insider believes despite the noise surrounding his future at Elland Road, the 26-year-old is loving life under the American manager.

Marsch was appointed back in February and has since led the Whites to seven points from a possible 15 which has Leeds sitting six points above the drop zone.

And as the England international makes his return from an injury issue, O’Rourke provided an insight into his relationship with his new boss:

He is the driving force for the side and by all accounts, it seems like he is enjoying life under Jesse Marsch. He’s made a good impact on to him as well,” he said.

TIF Thoughts on O’Rourke’s comments…

The obvious factor surrounding the future of the Englishman at Elland Road is whether they can survive the drop, however, this should come as good news to the Leeds fans.

With interest in the midfielder, he will want to believe in the manager’s ability to return Leeds to the heights they hit last season in their first Premier League campaign back from the Championship.

And if he has built a good relationship with Marsch, then it could hint towards the Whites having a better chance of keeping hold of Phillips come to the summer transfer window.
