Rangers fans will be buzzing to see what Aaron Ramsey has said ahead of their big Europa League match.

Ramsey was a big deadline-day signing by Rangers as they looked to improve their squad ahead of a crucial Europa League and SPFL campaign, but it’s safe to say that it hasn’t really worked out for the former Juventus midfielder thus far with just five starts to his name.

Should Ramsey start against Braga?

The Welshman was named on the bench for Rangers’ first-leg defeat away to Braga, who they face on Thursday, but was asked to start against St Mirren at the weekend, although many may have expected the player with plenty of European experience to start the Braga clash instead.

After this decision, Ramsey has spoken pre-match (as per Sky Sports via Football Daily) about his role at Rangers, with the midfielder saying, “I came here to play the biggest games” as he potentially hints towards a start in the Europa League for the first time as a Gers player.

Despite Ramsey starting last weekend for Rangers in a comfortable 4-0 win away from home, the Wales international was hooked after 45 minutes, which could be seen two different ways. Either Giovanni van Bronckhorst wanted to save him for the Europa League on Thursday, or he wasn’t impressed by what he saw in the first half from Ramsey, who did hit the bar with Rangers 1-0 up.

As Ramsey said, he left Juventus and joined Rangers so that he could play in big games in front of a packed-out Ibrox crowd, and thus far, he hasn’t been able to experience that in Europe, not even for a single minute – but that could be about to change if Van Bronckhorst listens to what he’s had to say.

Rangers fans will love what Ramsey has said as he hasn’t set the world alight since joining in January, but his eagerness and determination to make a big impact doesn’t appear to have been affected by this, with the midfielder wanting to play in the biggest and most important moments in Rangers’ season, highlighting he has the right mentality.
