Celtic fans enjoyed a crucial 2-0 win over Ross County on the weekend, and more so a well-taken goal from Benfica loanee Jota which has been labelled as ‘better without commentary’ by journalist John McGinley as a clip emerged online.

The Bhoys edged themselves closer to their 52nd Scottish league title after their important win over Ross County with goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and Jota. The latter came in the late stages of the game as in the 87th minute, Jota got on the end of a deflection off the Ross County upright, throwing himself at the ball in heroic fashion to secure the win, much to the delight and ecstasy of the Celtic faithful.

Interesting first question, how many Celtic fans were inside Ibrox?

The win once again put Celtic six points clear of bitter rivals Rangers at the top of the league table with only four games left until the champions are crowned. Since the game, McGinley shared a clip (which originally came from Sky Sports) of the decisive goal without the match commentary, captioning the post: ‘It only gets better without commentary’.

Cheers and sounds of jubilation deafen the ground as Celtic fans know they are so close to regaining the bragging rights over their rivals after the Gers’ domination during the 2020/21 season which saw them win the title by a whopping 25 points.

TIF Thoughts on Jota’s goal…

The Benfica man has been one of Ange Postecoglou’s main threats this season as he looks to add to the Hoops’ League Cup triumph in his maiden season in Scotland. The Portuguese forward has impressed thoroughly since his arrival on loan, racking up an impressive 11 goals and 12 assists in all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).

Goals like the one on the weekend will only make his stock with Celtic fans and the club’s hierarchy increase as the season draws to a close, while reports in January stated the club were looking at advancing the forward’s permanent deal with his parent club, rumoured at a criminal €7.5m (£6.3m).

Will Celtic sign Jota permanently?

Yes

No

No

Celtic look to be getting back to their best under Postecoglou, and with Champions League football in some form secured for next season, there is no reason why they shouldn’t move to sign Jota permanently as he has been a big part of their resurgence to the top of Scottish football. He is an impressive player with a huge future ahead of him and Celtic should take advantage of this.
