Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed West Ham United manager David Moyes has been scouting Keane Lewis-Potter in person.

At the start of this week, Hull City travelled to London to play Millwall in the Championship, and the Hammers boss took the opportunity to have a close look at one potential transfer target.

Indeed, the game may have ended in a 2-1 win to the home side, but Moyes would have been more focused on the individual efforts of the Hull winger.

While speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex outlined how the manager had gone to the game to have a good look at Lewis-Potter, who may well be a target for the Irons this summer.

He said: “David Moyes was at the Hull-Millwall game today [Monday] scouting players, and I believe the player that he was watching there is Keane Lewis-Potter.

“I’ve mentioned him before, he’s a winger/forward, more of a winger, but certainly in the Jarrod Bowen form – which is obviously where we got him from, so we’ve been looking at him.”

TIF Thoughts on Keane Lewis-Potter and West Ham…

Former Tigers boss Grant McCann was a big fan of him during his time at Hull City, as he called him a ‘special’ player.

Moyes certainly would have been glad to see Lewis-Potter start and finish the game, even if he couldn’t directly contribute to a win or a goal. Still, the winger has scored 10 goals and provided a further four assists in all competitions this season.

Against Millwall, he seemed to play okay, getting a match rating of 6.9, but he managed to have one shot at goal – which didn’t hit the target (via SofaScore).

Regardless of Lewis-Potter’s display on the occasion, Moyes may be tempted to make a move for him. After all, Jarrod Bowen was signed from Hull in 2020 and is now one of the Hammers’ star players.

With that in mind, West Ham may be hoping lightning can strike twice.
