Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero has been caught on camera shouting for joy after his team’s latest Premier League win.
Over the weekend, Spurs thumped Newcastle United 5-1 at home. A goal from Fabian Schar had given Eddie Howe’s team a surprise lead but a second-half onslaught saw Tottenham cruise to an easy victory.
Not only was it a morale-boosting win, but it was also a key step forward in the race for Champions League football as Antonio Conte’s men moved into fourth place in the league.

No doubt delighted with the result, defender Romero was filmed celebrating as he walked through the tunnel off the pitch and back into the Spurs dressing room.
In a video shared on the club’s TikTok page, he can be seen shouting ‘Vamos’ at the camera.

It’s fair to say the defender was pretty happy with the result, while he also would have had good reason to celebrate his own personal performance.
Indeed, despite not managing to help with team claim a clean sheet, Romero was still widely praised for his display against the Magpies.
Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold gave him an 8/10 match rating for football.london, labelling him ‘calmness personified’.
He wrote: “Made a crucial challenge 22 minutes in to deny [Joe] Willock from point-blank range. Was calmness personified and another game where he avoided a yellow card. Needs to do the same in at least one of the next two.”
A few more days like that and the Argentinian could well be celebrating a Champions League place by the end of the season.
