Chris Waugh has been speaking on Pod on the Tyne about the tactical changes Eddie Howe could make against Wolves.

Newcastle will be looking to put an end to their awful run of recent form that’s seen them lose three league games in a row, something that hasn’t happened since December, before Howe’s side went on a stunning unbeaten run.

Will Newcastle beat Wolves?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

It would make sense for Howe to switch up some aspects of his side and his tactics after they were embarrassed by Tottenham Hotspur, especially as a win would go a very long way to guaranteeing their safety in the Premier League.

This is why Waugh wouldn’t be surprised to see someone such as Bruno Guimaraes come back into the starting lineup.

He said: “Will there be tactical changes? I would suspect that Bruno Guimaraes would come into the XI, so I think that he will come in, I thought that he made a difference when he came on the pitch [against Spurs].

“I thought he was able to move the ball and give Newcastle a bit more progress going forward, he looked like he was trying to do things in possession.”

An easy one to start with, which player was booked after pushing Bentancur to the ground?

TIF Thoughts on Guimaraes returning…

Since arriving on Tyneside, Guimaraes has only started three games, with all of them coming away from home, so many fans will surely be eager to see Howe unleash their joint-record signing on Friday evening against Wolves.

In fact, since joining the Magpies, Guimaraes has only been afforded 322 minutes, and now, after surely having had enough time to settle in and get to know his teammates, Howe must see what his star midfielder can do in front of a sold-out St James’ Park under the lights.
