Pete Graves has been speaking on the Loaded HQ YouTube channel about the key change away from the pitch that PIF still want to make at Newcastle United.

PIF have been well and truly welcomed into the Newcastle United family, which will have come as no surprise given previous owner Mike Ashley oversaw two relegations during his frustrating and disappointing tenure at the club.

Have you been impressed by PIF?

Since the new owners arrived, a lot of small things away from the pitch and transfer business have gone on, such as the renaming of NINE bar back to Shearer’s Bar, the imminent relocation of Alan Shearer’s statue, as well as former players and legends returning such as Warren Barton and David Ginola even meeting Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi last Sunday.

An easy one to start with, which player was booked after pushing Bentancur to the ground?

This is something that Graves has claimed that PIF are wanting to do even more of at Newcastle.

He said: “I think that the new owners really want to bring a lot of the ex-players into the fold and have them more involved in the club on a day-to-day basis, which is something that the top teams do very well.”

TIF Thoughts on PIF wanting legends to return…

Something that defines Ashley’s era as Newcastle owner was the treatment of legendary player and manager Kevin Keegan, who vowed to never return to St James’ Park until the Sports Direct tycoon had left the club, so with new owners now in place, it may only be a matter of time before one of the biggest figures in Newcastle’s history returns.

It will be yet another masterstroke from Newcastle’s owners if they are to incorporate more Magpies legends and former players into the day-to-day running of the club, potentially as ambassadors, as it would show they are once again trying to do everything they can to make Newcastle a club the fans can love supporting once again.
