Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that despite links of a move away from Old Trafford, Marcus Rashford may not leave Manchester United in the summer.

Rashford has had a frustrating season for Manchester United this season and has lacked game time due to injuries and being out of favour. He has featured 19 times in the Premier League, with just 10 of those appearances coming from the start.

The striker has been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly become interested in him, as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe if he was to exit the club in the summer.

Despite those reports, whilst speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones claimed that he isn’t convinced the England forward will opt for a move away from Old Trafford.

He said: “I’m still not 100% convinced that Rashford will leave United. There’s a situation to be sorted out, he’s been linked to PSG, which just raises more questions about why that link has come about and why PSG thinks he has become available.”

TIF Thoughts on Dean Jones’ comments…

Rashford has been valued at £70m by Transfermarkt and he has been relatively poor this season for his side. In the Premier League, he has an average succesful dribble rate of 47%, has an average of 0.5 key passes per game, and an average of 0.2 goals per game, as per SofaScore – so is hardly setting the world alight.

With the summer introduction of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, Rashford has seen his game time limited even when fit, as United have backed their new signing, particularly in recent weeks, and given him minutes to prove what he can do.

Despite his poor form this term, in previous seasons in the Premier League, Rashford has scored 10 or more goals in his previous three campaigns, so has proved he can cut it at the top level. He may opt for a move away from Manchester in the summer, in an attempt to revisit this form, though whether he does remains to be seen.
