Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Leeds United could be set for a big summer transfer window as a potential takeover from 49ers Enterprises looms.
Jesse Marsch was brought into Elland Road as the replacement for Marcelo Bielsa following the Argentinian manager overseeing the Whites breaking the record for the most goals conceded (20) in a calendar month, which was consequently the final straw before he was sacked.
The American coach has turned things around for Leeds, as they are now four games unbeaten with three wins and a draw in the Premier League. The Whites sit two places above the drop zone and are eight points clear with just six games to play.
With the 49ers reportedly looking to own 100% of the club in the future, Jones suggested to GiveMeSport that if the club want this to happen, they will have to invest big in the summer to ensure they don’t get relegated before this occurs.
He said: “I think we might be surprised by the level of player that they end up signing in the summer. They know that they’ve got to get a lot, a lot better for next season because the competition is going to get even tougher and they really can’t consider relegation at a time when they’re about to have all this investment coming from the 49ers.”

Leeds United are all but safe in the Premier League thanks to the introduction of Marsch, and it will be interesting to see what kind of pull he has in the summer in terms of attracting players.
The Whites were linked to highly sought-after American midfielder Brenden Aaronson in January, but they had two bids rejected. Marsch was the manager of Aaronson at RB Salzburg, so the connection between the two could be enough to get a deal over the line in the summer.
This attraction that Leeds now have because of Marsch could be enough to ensure that the Whites are way off the relegation battle this time next season and in the future, which could lead to the 49ers owning 100% of the club in the years to come without any issues.
