Adam Pope has taken to Twitter to heap a load of praise on Liam Cooper, who is valued at £6.3 million (as per Transfermarkt), after a great performance for Leeds United.

Cooper started for the second game in a row after being out for a number of months due to a muscular problem and appears to have made an immediate impact having conceded just one goal in those two matches, including an impressive clean sheet away from home yesterday.

Is Liam Cooper a Leeds legend?

Jesse Marsch will be delighted to have his captain back to full fitness as his leadership and defensive qualities could be key in keeping Leeds in the Premier League and those qualities were on full show yesterday winning 100% of his tackles and making five interceptions, the most in the Leeds squad (FBRef).

Pope was left very impressed by Cooper against Watford, claiming that he was ‘immense today’ which will be music to the ears of fans and Marsch.

This was a low point in Leeds United's history, but how many points did they get in the 2003/04 campaign?

TIF Thoughts on Cooper…

Leeds United have only managed to keep four clean sheets in the Premier League all season and they have all come when Cooper has started the game, so it’s no surprise that Pope has hailed him as immense when he would have had to watch a large chunk of this season without Cooper’s influence.

The three points that Marsch’s side picked up yesterday extended their unbeaten run to four games now and was a massively important one considering that Newcastle United, Everton and Burnley all also won this week, with the latter’s coming midweek against the Toffees.
