Journalist Conor McGilligan has expressed his concern over Leeds United fullbacks Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling ahead of the club’s next game.

Later tonight, the Whites will face Crystal Palace away from home as they look to secure their status as a Premier League club for another season.

As things stand, Leeds are only four points above the relegation zone and with games against Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea to come right after, a result against the Eagles is much needed.

Dallas and Ayling both started last time out in a 3-0 away win at Watford, but could be in for a tricky test against the Palace wingers at Selhurst Park.

McGilligan explained his fears on Twitter, writing: “Concerned about Dallas vs Olise & Zaha vs Ayling tonight, I have to say.

“Palace’s strengths are making the pitch as wide as possible & they will be up against a narrow system with no protection for the full backs.

“You’d be expecting a fair few 1v1’s.”

TIF thoughts on Stuart Dallas, Luke Ayling and Leeds…

Dallas isn’t naturally a left-back and has been filling in for the injured Junior Firpo of late. With that in mind, it’s easy to see why McGilligan fears him coming up against Michael Olise – who has four goals and eight assists this season.

On the other flank, Ayling hasn’t had the best seasons either. Indeed, his defensive frailties were highlighted in the recent win at Watford – despite the club coming away with a clean sheet – so an in form Wilfried Zaha could be licking his lips at the prospect of coming up against the defender.

It’s a huge game for Leeds with regard to the fight for survival. No doubt, their two fullbacks will have to be at their best if they are to come away with a positive result tonight.
