Mellisa Reddy of Sky Sports reported yesterday that while Man United were playing down reports that a deal was close, her sources had confirmed that people expect a deal to get done in the near future, which would help them start to prepare for the transfer window.

Romano believes that while a deal is certainly not completed, it is close and that Rangnick a big fan of Ten Hag as a manager.

Manchester United fans, do you remember how many points you picked up in seasons gone by? Let's find out, starting with 2020/21

Ten Hag is certainly a well sort after manager at the minute with PIF backed Newcastle United reportedly chasing him last year following their takeover, but it appears that Man United will be his first top-flight job outside of the Netherlands, which could be seen as a risk for both parties.

The Red Devils appear to be losing severe ground in the race for the top four and could well be accepting their after this season by planning with Ten Hag already for next campaign and potentially getting early plans in place for the transfer window as well.
